THE AGEING FACE
As we age our skin, subcutaneous tissue, muscle and deep facial fat thins. Superficial fat in our face paradoxically thickens, contributing to sagging.
Wrinkles deepen from muscle movement and skin texture dulls with loss of youthful, dewy glow. Bones in our face and the skull also change, the orbits around our eyes enlarge, as does the bone around our mouth. The angle of our jaw flattens, leading to the characteristic facial changes we notice with advanced age.
These changes can be minimized, depending on your concerns, budget and priorities. I celebrate those who choose to age with intervention and those who choose to age without. TREATMENT
Photos will be taken before treatment and stored confidentially in your patient file. This is to document your baseline and results.
If you have dermal filler, photos will be taken immediately afterwards, however Botulinum toxin post-treatment photos will be taken at your follow-up visit as this treatment takes time to reach maximal effect (usually 1-3 days after, with peak effect at 2 weeks).
You will be provided with aftercare instructions and a contact number to address any concerns or questions that may arise.
FOLLOW-UP VISIT
This is usually 2 weeks after Botulinum toxin treatment and 4-6 weeks after dermal filler treatment to ensure peak results are assessed and top ups are done if required.
This consultation is free, however there will be a charge for any extra product used.
INITIAL CONSULTATION
Currently free, and there is no obligation to go ahead with treatment. This is where I perform a facial assessment and take a thorough medical and cosmetic history to ensure treatment is safe and effective. We can then formulate a treatment plan that works for you.
If you decide to go ahead with treatment we will usually book you in a following date to ensure optimal safety and preparation. Botulinum toxin injections may be possible at first consultation depending on needs and time.

PLEASE NOTE
Botulinum toxin, dermal fillers, Profhilo® and Belkyra® cannot be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Dermal fillers and Profhilo® cannot be injected within 2 weeks of COVID vaccination or infection.
AFTERCARE
You can generally resume your usual day after Botulinum toxin or dermal filler injections, however excessive exercise, saunas, facial massage or lying prone is best avoided for 48 hours afterwards.
You will receive an aftercare instructions sheet to take home with contact details. Safety and care are paramount, so we encourage communication.
RESULTS
Botulinum toxin usually takes 1-3 days to start working with peak results expected at 2 weeks after treatment.

Dermal filler results are noticed straight away; however swelling will alter the appearance until peak results which are expected up to 4-6 weeks after treatment.
